The Lisbon Metro concluded the 25th phase of the disinfection process in stations and train cars, ensuring greater protection and safety of staff and customers.
This action was aimed at reducing the risk of contamination and contagion of COVID-19, by applying the product Microbe Shield Z-71, by the brand Zoono.
This product was applied in the entire train fleet and network stations, with special focus on passenger contact points. Five more disinfection actions such as this one are planned at a rate of one per month, since this product has a long-lasting and continued action, with its biocidal effect remaining active for up to 30 days.
In trains, this disinfectant was applied in the driver’s cabins and passenger salons, namely on seats, grip bars, handles, windows and other surfaces. In stations, the disinfectant was applied on the handrails of stairways and escalators, station furniture, ticket vending machines, ticket offices and points of sale, elevators and other facilities.
The product Microbe Shield Z-71 has a new and disruptive physical disinfection technology which is harmless to humans and animals, but deadly to a wide variety of bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses, including the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
The product was tested according to the European standard EN14476 for several strains of corona and others viruses (it was tested against over 100 pathogens, namely the Coronavirus COVID-19, MRSA, E.Coli, H1N1, Norovirus, Salmonella, MERS, African Swine Plague Virus and the H9N2 Virus) showing an efficacy greater than 99.99% after 5 minutes.
The action of this product is not disrupted by routine cleaning, which will be reinforced weekly with a manual application of this product on the most critical surfaces.
