Follow this page for information on Metro service changes during World Youth Day.

As per the Mobility and Security Plans for the WYD event, there will be restrictions to access some Metro stations.

Schedules and stations may be subject to change based on the directives from the security forces and event organisers.

 

August 1, 3 and 4:

  • Picoas, Parque, Marquês de Pombal and Avenida stations may close from 11:00 am until the end of service;
  • During these restrictions, trains on the Blue and Yellow lines will run normally but will not stop at the closed stations;
  • From 11:00 am until the end of service, Marquês de Pombal station (Blue and Yellow lines) will be entirely closed;
  • Metro customer service – Customer Space and Express card issuing – and the shop area will be closed.

    August 6:

    • Moscavide station may close from 10:00 am until the end of service.
    • During these restrictions, trains on the Red line will run normally but will not stop at the closed station.

    From July 29 to August 6:

    • Increased train service on all lines, from 6:30 am to 1:00 am;
    • Trains running with six cars on all lines;
    • Additional Metro staff and security personnel at stations;
    • Teams of Metro volunteers and promoters to assist at the stations.
