The project to install three new lifts at Praça de Espanha station has begun, as part of the Lisbon Metro’s plan to improve station accessibility.

The necessary construction, installations, and equipment will be implemented in phases to prepare for the commissioning of:

  • 2 (two) lifts, facilitating access between the station’s lobbies and the platforms;
  • 1 (one) street-level lift at the eastern entrance of the station’s north lobby.

The works started on 6 November, necessitating the temporary closure of one entrance on Av. Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro. However, the other entrance remains accessible, ensuring access to IPO Lisboa.

The completion of the work is scheduled for December 2024.

Updates on this project, including any potential disruptions for customers, will be provided on this page.
