To enable technical testing of the new CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) signalling system, a key milestone prior to its entry into service, the operating timetable on the Blue Line will be temporarily adjusted.

During August, the Blue Line will operate as follows:

  • Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: service ends at midnight (12:00 am);
  • Saturdays and Sundays: service starts at 7:30 am.

On all other days, the Blue Line will operate according to its normal timetable, from 6:30 am to 1:00 am.

During these periods, customers may use Carris bus services operating along the Blue Line corridor. Please check the relevant timetables before travelling.

This temporary change takes into account the lower passenger demand usually recorded in August, particularly at weekends. It will allow technical testing and scheduled overnight maintenance works to be carried out while minimising disruption to customers.
