CP train service suspended between Cais do Sodré and Algés from November 21 to 23
Metropolitano de Lisboa, CP, and IP announce that between November 21 and 23, 2025, train service between Cais do Sodré and Algés will be subject to operational adjustments.
This change is required to allow for track construction and replacement work at Cais do Sodré, under the responsibility of Metropolitano de Lisboa, in coordination with CP and IP, as part of the construction of the new tunnel that will connect the future Santos station on the Circular line to the existing Cais do Sodré station.
The following changes to services will be made as part of the planned works:
- On November 21, there will be no trains departing from Cais do Sodré after 10:00 p.m. and no trains departing from Cascais after 9:30 p.m.
- On the night of November 22, there will be no trains departing from Cais do Sodré after midnight and no trains departing from Cascais after 11:30 p.m.
- On November 23, trains departing from Cais do Sodré between 5:30 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. and between 8:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. will be canceled, as well as trains departing from Cascais between 5:30 a.m. and 7:44 a.m. and between 7:34 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.
To minimize the inconvenience caused by this work and ensure passenger transport, CP will implement a replacement bus service between Cais do Sodré and Algés during the periods mentioned above.
Replacement Bus Service:
- Buses – Cais do Sodré «» Algés – stopping at Santos, Alcântara-Mar and Belém stations
- Operating throughout the weekend, replacing the usual train schedules.

- TOWARDS CAIS DO SODRÉ: Av. da Índia – Carris stop outside the station building
- TOWARDS ALGÉS: Av. da Índia – Carris stop opposite CUF Tejo Hospital
- BELÉM
- TOWARDS CAIS DO SODRÉ: Av. da Índia – Carris stop outside the station building
- TOWARDS ALGÉS: Av. da Índia – Metropolitan Carris stop near Jardim Afonso Albuquerque
- ALGÉS – Algés Station Square – Bus terminal near Av. Marginal.
On the replacement bus service, journey times may vary depending on traffic conditions. CP buses will be clearly identified and equipped with access ramps for people with reduced mobility.
During this work, CP rail services between Oeiras and Cascais will resume.
These interventions are part of the program to modernize and improve Lisbon’s rail and metro network, ensuring compatibility between infrastructures and the expansion of the Lisbon Metro network.
